La Chaumine is a rustic alpine timber chalet. It is located 3 km above La Grave , situated at the edge of the smaller village of Ventelon at an altitude of 1782 m

( 5847 Ft ).
The lodge faces due South directly onto the North face of the majestic glaciated peak of
" La Meije "
( 3983 m / 13065 Ft ), providing a truly exhilerating and ever changing view.

The prestigious Michelin Guide of France ranked the view as three stars, the highest possible rating and considered "worth a journey".

The intimate accomodation includes terraces, 19 bedrooms, a spacious dining room, an extended lounge area with stunning panoramic views and open fireplace, bar, cellar and an attic which could easily be converted into private quarters. On the lower level, you will find a public area and a sauna, which we think, has probably the best view in the world. The building sits on approximately 2000 m² of constructible land.
